TV TRAP
By
Chief Swift Eagle

Turn on the box.
Turn off your mind.
Isn't "TV"
Simply sublime?

Glassy-eyed stare
Reflects the bright tube.
No conversation
Interrupts mood.

Is it a mood?
Or is it a stupor?
All the housewives
Are taught to buy "Super".

The programs are rerun
Six times each season.
You can sit there
And not have to reason.

Life passes by
The video trapped.
We'd be better off
If all sets were scrapped.

Watchers do nothing.
They only stare.
Their brains get absorbed
And then they don't care.
