TREE HOUSE:
By
Chief Swift Eagle
A tree house is a pleasant place.
It nestles in the breezes.
It overlooks a child's safe world
And many small heart pleases.
It sways in boughs securely.
Little spirits stalk their dreams.
They cruise to faraway places
With tree branches for ships' beams.
Provisions are carefully stowed away.
Rope ladders are rolled and tied.
Cast off all lines! Run up our flag!
An enemy ship I've spied!
Ready the cannon! Full speed ahead!
We'll catch him as he runs.
And if he resists or won't surrender,
We'll empty all of our guns.
Look out! Here comes a cannon ball!
Ha, Ha! Ya missed again!
Ka Boom! Take that, ya rotten rat!
Do you know how to swim?
We've sunk him now. It's time to eat.
Eat your grub and don't complain.
After lunch, since you're my friend,
I'll let you fly this plane.
Yes, a tree house is a pleasant place,
There dreams all seem so real.
I think I'll rebuild my tree house,
So my children can learn how to feel.
