These links are intended for use by Sequoia High School students who are working toward admission to a University or College. This is a college prep course and it is intended to prepare the best students for admission to the University of their choice.
Diligent application to complete these required classes will prepare the student for the SAT and College Entrance Examinations.
Sequoia High School Students may use these links to complete courses for credit on the Internet. Students are free to use additional links, text books and library resources to enhance their knowledge in a subject area.

Students should select 4 classes of one foreign language and 4 classes in a second foreign language to earn 40 credits in foreign languages. Note: You must complete 20 credits in one language and 20 credits in a second language. Students may use internet resources, recordings, video programs and native speakers to help them to learn to read, write and speak the language. Evidence of the Student's Mastery of the Language will be through a proficiency exercise with a native speaker of the language. Students will have to write an essay discussing a work of literature in the language and they will have to submit a video tape of them discussing their work on the paper for a native speaker who will evaluate the video tape and essay. |

Merriam-Webster Online hosts the
Merriam-Webster's Dictionary online. The dictionary is accessible through a
search engine, returning definitions for the input word. The Oxford English
Dictionary (OED) is a unique reference work. It is visibly unique because of
its size, and linguistically unique because of its comprehensiveness and its
inclusion of chronologically arranged quotations illustrating changes in the
meaning of words. Available to Purdue staff and students. This hypertext Webster
interface provides a point-and-click client interface for accessing the
various Webster's dictionary services on the Internet. Words in the resulting
definition are hypertext linked back into the dictionary, allowing you to use
your mouse to access the definition of those related (and unrelated) words.

Translates user-input words
and phrases to numerous languages. For the multimedia-enabled, some phrases

The Acronym Finder web site
is a database of more than 47,000 acronyms and their meanings. The index
