ANIMAL LOVER
By
Chief Swift Eagle
We had an alligator,
His name was Mr. Hyde.
We showed him to our four year old.
She cried and cried and cried.
Not because she was afraid,
She stroked and petted him.
She cried because he used her pool,
She wanted with him to swim.
Swim with an alligator,
That doesn't sound too clever.
But if we just don't let her,
She might cry forever.
In she went with joyful squeal.
She looked like Kilroy's twin.
Nose to snout with Mr. Hyde.
This pair a prize could win.
Splash and float and dive
With freedom of their youth.
They both enjoyed their swim and play
And neither bared a tooth.
Babies see each other with trust
And joy and pleasure.
They could build a world of love,
Young hearts are our real treasure.
