Statement of
Faith We, the Keepers of
Creation, believe that:
·
There is only
One True Great Spirit (God). As Natives, we refer to the One True
God as the "Great Spirit". ·
The Great Spirit is
without Gender and may be referred to as the "Great Spirit,"
"Mother/Father" or "God". ·
The Great Spirit
Created all things in the Universe and that all things are United in
Spirit. ·
The Great Spirit is a
God of Love, Kindness and Benevolence. ·
We should have Faith
in the Great Spirit. ·
Jesus is the Living
Son of the Great Spirit. ·
Jesus died and rose
from the dead to show us that Life is Eternal. · As Native People, the Great Spirit has Revealed, through His Son, Jesus Christ, that we are the "Keepers of Creation". o The Entire Planet
Earth is the Great Spirit's Garden and it is our responsibility to
maintain, improve and/or restore the Garden for all of
Time. o We know from our Oral
Tradition that Jesus walked among us, played in our rivers, Blessed the
Land and made it bountiful. o We know from our Oral
Tradition that Jesus left to do His work and to be Crucified and that we
wept to hear what had been done to Him. o We know that we may
continue to Rejoice that Jesus is not dead but has shown us that Life is
Eternal by His Resurrection. ·
We should Love one
another. ·
We should have Charity
for all of Creation. · The Great Spirit
does Reveal Truth to many individuals in many different ways and it is not
for Humankind to pass judgment on the Revelation of the Great
Spirit.
o We should respect the
Religious Beliefs of others as they seek Truth. · It is important to
have Gratitude and to say, "Thank you" to the Great Spirit for
the Bounty on this Earth when we pray instead of "Give Me!”
The Great Spirit knows our needs before we ask. We do not need to
ask. |

Keepers of Creation Church
His Eminence The Patriarch Dr. Chief Alexander Swift Eagle Justice has Full Apostolic Succession as an Archbishop (See the Lines of Apostolic Succession for the Patriarch: http://www.education-1.net/justicelines.htm )
The "Keepers of Creation Church" is a Religious and an Ethnic union, a Church of shared Social and Spiritual Values. Our Faith is not in conflict with any other Belief System or Religion.
Some ask if we are Christians. The Answer is, "Yes". Jesus is our famous Brother. (We have the same Father and that makes us Brothers.)
Our Islamic Brothers ask if we believe in Allah. The Answer is, "Yes" Allah is the name used in Islam for the One True God. We also pray more than five times each day. We have no problem believing that Mohammed, Blessed be his name, is a Prophet of Allah.
It is our Belief that all of the Great Religions of the World are Revealed Truth from the Great Spirit and must be respected for the Truth that they provide to their followers.
The Keepers of Creation Church is in Full Communion with the:

Tenets
I
RESPECT THE GREAT SPIRIT
CREATOR
Respect and Honor the Great Spirit Creator (God).
Ia
VALIDITY OF ALL PATHS TO
TRUTH
Accept the Good of the many Religious Faiths and
Ethics by which the Good and Just have chosen to live their lives.
Traditional Family Values, Honesty, Positive Ethics in Business and in International Trade are also part of
our Belief Structure.
II
LIVE IN HARMONY
Live in Harmony with the all Creation.
III
KNOWLEDGE IS
POWER
Knowledge is power and the key to Knowledge is the
American English Language, which is our Church's official
language.
IV
INDIVIDUAL
OWNERSHIP
It is vital that we own land in Fee Simple, as
individuals, rather than as a Church. Members of the Church retain
exclusive ownership and control over their own real and personal
property.
IVa
Charitable contributions should be made directly to those in need and not to the Church.
IVb
Tithes will not be accepted by the Keepers of Creation
Church. Members are encouraged to use their income for the benefit of
their own family.
IVc
Worship in the Great Spirit's Temple: Church buildings and Temples are not necessary for Worship Services. Keepers of Creation Church Services are conducted in open spaces such as yards, parks, forests etc., whenever possible.
V
GO UNSEEN
Because of
our History, we conceal the extent and number of our
membership.
VI
ARBITRATE
DIFFERENCES
We believe that arbitration by a Patriarch or
any of
his designees is to be used to settle differences between and/or among members
of the Church. State and Federal Courts should be
avoided.
VIa
Members of the Church are encouraged to resist being compelled to serve on a jury in any Federal, State, Superior or Municipal Court of Law.
VII
OBEY JUST LAWS/RIGHT THE
WRONG
We believe that State and Federal Laws should be
obeyed. Unfair laws should be changed through vigorous legal opposition by
individuals.
VIIa
The Church does engage in political
activity to change unjust laws, to change public policy in favor of those in
need and to improve the Human Condition.
VIII
WE ARE
EQUAL
All Full Members of the Church are equal. A Member of
the Church is defined as any adult person who has been accepted as a Full Member
of the Church. Only persons who have reached eighteen years of age may be Full
Members of the Church.
IX
PATRIARCH FOR LIFE
A
Patriarch serves for life.
IXc
The Patriarch has absolute and complete authority over the Temporal and Spiritual activities of the Keepers of Creation Church.
IXb
The Patriarch must be a White Chief. When the Patriarch dies, the Red Chief becomes White Chief and Patriarch or she may appoint a new Patriarch.
X
The Keepers of Creation Church may provide all of the Sacraments and Pastoral Services to Members to advance their Spiritual Growth and Well-Being.
XI
The Patriarch may Ordain Ministers of any Gender and send forth Missionaries to Preach the Truth to all of the Nations in Creation.
XII
The Patriarch may seed Churches, Missions, Seminaries, Religious Orders of Brothers and of Sisters to expand the Worship of the Great Spirit.
XIIa
The Keepers of Creation Church is to be operated as a "Church Without Walls" with individuals praying directly to the Great Spirit and coming together for group services only as needed for fellowship, Religious family celebrations or as deemed reasonable by Members or by the Patriarch.
XIIb
The Keepers of Creation Church does not accept donations from individuals of moderate means. Such individuals are encouraged to use their funds for their own needs, the needs of their family and for direct Charity if the family has a surplus.
Keepers of Creation Church will accept donations from individuals of exceptional wealth, from philanthropic organizations, from companies and from Heads of State.
No collections are taken at Keepers of Creation Services. No items are sold to enhance worship or for the veneration of the Great Spirit, Saints or Angels. It is important that we not become "Money Changers" in the Temple.
Take
heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye
have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
Therefore
when thou doest [thine] alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the
hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have
glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
But
when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand
doeth:
That
thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself
shall reward thee openly.
And
when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites [are]: for they
love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets,
that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their
reward.
But
thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut
thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which
seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
But
when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen [do]: for they
think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Be
not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye
have need of, before ye ask him.
Moreover
when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they
disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say
unto you, They have their reward.
But
thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;
That
thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret:
and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
Lay
not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth
corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
But
lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust
doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
For
where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
The
light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole
body shall be full of light.
But
if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If
therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great [is] that
darkness!
No
man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the
other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot
serve God and mammon.
Therefore
I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what
ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the
life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
Behold
the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather
into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better
than they?
Which
of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
And
why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how
they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
And
yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed
like one of these.
Wherefore,
if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is
cast into the oven, [shall he] not much more [clothe] you, O ye of little
faith?
Therefore
take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or,
Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
(For
after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father
knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
But
seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these
things shall be added unto you.

Section 1.0
A child is a member of the Church by
birth, if the child is born to one, or more parents who are members of the
Church.
Section 1.1
A person may become a Member of the Church
through Baptism.
Section 1.1a
A person may become a Member of the Church with acceptance by the Patriarch.
Section1.1b
A Member becomes a Full Member of the Church only with the permission of the Patriarch.
Section 1.1c
Any person who believes as we do may call themselves a "Keeper of Creation". We welcome individuals who wish to Protect and Preserve the Planet as part of their Service to the Great Spirit. Those who decide to call themselves "Keepers of Creation", without membership in our Church, are not members of our Church and the Church does not accept any responsibility for their individual and independent actions. We welcome their sharing of our beliefs.
Section 1.2
Members of the Keepers of Creation Church are part of a Spiritual Union. There is no Congregation in the usual sense. All Members of the Church follow the Tenets and By-Laws of the Church but the Church is not responsible for their actions as individuals. The Members are not responsible for the Actions of the Church.
|
If you wish to become a Keeper of Creation, Live with Joy and Gratitude. Pray by saying "Thank you" to the Great Spirit each day. You do not need our permission to be a Keeper of Creation. We have no Membership Committee or Board to approve or disapprove. You will not be added to any list. Your name will not be given to any agency or business. No numbers or records are kept that might be obtained by any government agency. You are not a Member of this Church but you may be a Keeper of Creation and United with us in Spirit. |
Section 1.1a
All Full Members, must be initiated into
the Church before they may help set policy. Being a Member of the
Church is distinct from being a Full Member of the
Church.
Section 1.2
Individuals who wish to become members of
the Church need not prove Native Heritage. Most Natives have only
their family tradition to let them know that they are Natives. We will
also accept individuals into the Church who wish to become members of the
Western Federation Tribe because they
wish to live as Natives without regard to their Race, prior religion or national
heritage. Members of the Church may request Adoption by the Tribe but they
may be members of the Church without joining the Tribe.
Section 1.3
Members of the Keepers of Creation
Church may be of any Race or combination of Races. Race is defined as Caucasian,
Mongol, Negroid and Native
Section 1.4
Members may be of any Nationality.
Nationality is defined as Nation of Citizenship.
Section 1.5
Members may be of any occupation that is
legal.
Section 1.6
Members may not belong to any organization
that is a known "hate" group or to any group that supports violence or the
restriction of any Human Right. (Nazi Party or derivative organizations, The KKK
etc.)
Section 2
We Are Natives
We are not Indians. We are
not Native Americans or Native Brazilians etc. We
are not caricatures of our forefathers who put on shows for tourists. We are a
proud People with a rich Tradition.
Section 2.1
We respect and learn from our past. We are
a highly adaptable Church and Tribe. We are a forward looking People. We are
optimistic.
Section 2.2
We are vast in number but silent as to
specifics about our membership.
Section 2.3
We still consider the individual States
and the Federal Government as potentially dangerous because they could move
against us as a People.
Section 2.4
We Forgive the wrongs done to our People but we remain
vigilant against a repeat of abuses to our Native Religious Rights and Personal
Rights by individuals, Agencies, State Governments and/or by the Federal
Government.
Section 2.5
We choose to protect our Traditions and
our Religious practices.
Section 2.6
Keepers of Creation Church Members are
encouraged to remain independent of Federal Numbering and
Identification.
Section 2.7
No permission, from the Federal or State
Governments, is to be sought for any dance or Religious Ceremony. Permits,
licenses, documents and certifications, tax permits etc. that are required for
doing business may be obtained.
Section
2.7a
No request, from the Federal or State Governments, is
to be made for feathers, animal parts or Natural
products unless the
current restrictive practices are modified to eliminate the need for
Registration and/or Numbering of our People.
Section 2.8
Power of the Patriarch
The Patriarch has the power to speak for the Church,
make policy for the Church, sign contracts, enter into agreements and conduct
business without prior approval or later ratification by members of the
Church. It is intended that the Church will have no income, assets
or debt. The real and personal
property of individual Church Members is not Church property or assets. The Patriarch
is the Temporal and Spiritual Leader of the Church.
A Patriarch may bless any feather, animal
part or Natural product from any source and pass to it the appropriate Spirit if
Federal or State law restricts possession of the usual species used.
Section 3
A Native name is an important reflection
of who you are. You should select your name within a year after joining the
Church or you may select your name when you come of age
Spiritually.
Section 3.1
You may change your name as often as you
wish. A Patriarch will assist you with the process. When a new name is selected,
the former Spirit name is gone and is never spoken
again.
Section 3.2
Your Native name may replace your present
name or become a part of it.
Section 3.3
At some time in your adult life you will
have a vision as your Spirit awakens. You will see through the eyes of an animal
or from the essence of some natural object or phenomenon. This is your tie with
all of Creation. Your Native name reminds all who know you of our Spiritual
connection to all things.
Section 3.4
We are brothers and sisters to all
creatures. We have the same Mother/Father Spirit.
Section 3.5
We are the same matter as Natural things
such as stones, soil and running water. The Wind, Rain and Sun that shape our
surroundings also shape us. We are a part of our World not apart from
it.
Section 4
Native Family
The
center of activity among Church members is within the family. The Church
recognizes and respects individual choices of family form and
lifestyle.
Section 4.1
The Great Spirit loves
variety.
Section 4.2
The Great Spirit is a Spirit of
Love.
Section 4.3
Gender is recognized as both a physical
and a psychological condition.
Section 4.4
To Natives, all genders are creations of
the Great Spirit. All genders have a place in the Great Spirit's
Plan.
Section 4.5
Adult Natives are encouraged to
marry.
Section 4.6
Family planning is encouraged as part of
being a responsible adult.
Section 4.7
All matters of personal sexuality are
considered personal choices and are not subject to law or regulation by the
Church.
Section 4.8
A Patriarch and all Ordained Ministers of
the Keepers of Creation Church may marry couples.
Section 4.9
Married persons may start a family if they
wish.
Section 5.0
Young married persons are encouraged to
postpone having children until they are done with their formal education and
until they have settled into a serious career.
Section 5.1
Older married couples may adopt children
or remain childless.
Section 5.2
Couples with children often need to spend
quality time away from their children. Childless couples may wish to borrow
children for short periods of time. Older couples may also serve as an excellent
source of reliable child care for working parents.
Section 5.3
The keys to happy family life are Love,
Respect, Good Humor and Flexibility.
Section 5.4
When, or if, a couple falls out of Love,
Respect, Good Humor, or Flexibility, they may divorce while they can still be
friends. They will partition their goods and property fairly. A Patriarch may
mediate.
Section 5.5
Children of divorced parents will be held
in joint custody and neither parent will pay any child support to the divorced
partner.
Section 5.6
If either parent is unfit or wishes to
grant sole custody to the other party, a Patriarch may grant sole custody if
neither parent pays support. The parent taking sole custody must be able to
support the children without going on State or Federal
assistance.
Section 5.6a
If an unmarried woman becomes pregnant she should seek support and assistance for raising the child from the biological father. The father has a right to request DNA testing to make sure that the child is his biological child. If there is no loving relationship between the biological parents, the child may be put up for adoption by parents who will provide a stable and loving environment for the child.
Section 5.6b
Parental responsibility should be verified by DNA testing shortly after birth so there is no doubt as to the relationships among mother, father and child. Fraud, deception and switching of children at birth is of concern and such issues can be detected early with DNA testing. Only genetic parents may be held accountable for the support of children except in cases of formal adoption.
Section 5.7
Custody arrangements should be worked out
by the couple whenever possible.
Section 5.8
Children may divorce their parents, for
cause, and adopt new parents if a Patriarch approves.
Section 5.9
Parents may divorce their children, for
cause, if they can find replacements for themselves. The children may become
wards of the State, wards of other responsible and willing adults, or parents
may grant the children emancipation if a Patriarch approves.
Section 6.0
Marital Harmony
Within
the family each married partner must work out, with the other partner, family
responsibilities for chores, child rearing and finances.
Section 6.1
No member of the family is required to
tolerate abuse of any kind. All cases of abuse are to be reported to the Patriarch. The
Patriarch will take responsible action to end the abuse. If any
State of Federal Law has been violated, the Patriarch will turn in the
offenders.
Section 7.0
Incest
Marriage
between close, blood relatives is not permitted. Marriage may be permitted if
there is no biological affinity that would threaten the issue from such a
marriage. Incest is grounds for expulsion from the
Church.
Section 8.0
Plural Marriage
Plural
marriage is not permitted.
Section 9.0
Controlled
Substances
The abuse of Controlled Substances: Alcohol, Drugs and Tobacco will not be
tolerated among members of the Church. The penalty for alcohol and/or drug abuse
is expulsion from the Church if intervention fails. The best course, with regard
to alcohol, drugs and tobacco, is to avoid the use of the substances.
As a modern
Church we do not hold any narcotic, tobacco or alcohol sacred. We do not believe
that a drug induced stupor gives any person insight or spiritual enlightenment.
Visions are spiritual experiences. Often the meaning of a vision is clear.
Sometimes, a Patriarch might help interpret a vision. Sometimes a vision is not
a vision. Sometimes what is perceived as a vision is just a dream that has no
special spiritual meaning. Most adult members of the Church can tell the
difference.
Section 10.0
Native Holidays
Our Church has paired our Traditional Holidays with the dates and days of the common holidays to avoid conflicts at work and to blend our activities in a way that does not draw attention to us as a group.

Section 11.0
Traditional
Foods
Natives have lived in many environments over thousands
of years. Our traditional foods are based on what is available to eat, means
available for preparation, and ease of acquisition.
Section 11.1
As an adaptable people, our traditional
foods have evolved as we have had contact with neighboring cultures. Traditional
foods vary among Natives from different geographical regions. My grandfather was
a trapper in Louisiana. My grandmother prepared squirrel, possum, alligator and
catfish. As an urban Native, I have never had the desire for squirrel,
possum, alligator or catfish. I know how to prepare them for consumption but I'd
rather buy chicken or turkey at the supermarket. I can set a snare but I'd
rather open a can. Hunting and farming, when they are not necessary, are wastes
of time and energy. Killing of animals without reason is an affront to the Great
Spirit.
Section 12.0
Native Law and
Order
As a civilized Church, we believe in the Rule of Law
in Society and in the orderly operation of government and
business.
Section 12.1
All Local, State and Federal Laws are to
be obeyed. Laws of the Church are to be respected.
Section 12.2
No sanctuary is to be provided, by any
member of the Church, to a known felon.
Section 12.3
As a positive force in the larger
Community, all members are expected to assist law enforcement, to report
criminal activity, and to turn in criminals.
As a Church, we see no Religious conflict
with the death penalty for violent felons, child molesters, wife beaters,
rapists, drug dealers, persons who cause a death as a result of substance abuse,
predatory white collar criminals and individuals who maim, torture or endanger
life to the degree that "But for the Grace of the Great Spirit" the victim would
have died.
Section 12.5
We believe that the penalty for a crime
should tied to the crime. The penalty should not be changed because of the age
or the gender of the perpetrator.
Section
13
Adaptability
All Church By-Laws and
Tenets are intended for the benefit of the members of the Church. By-Laws and
Tenets may be adapted, interpreted, modified or enforced to suit the situation,
location and the times.
Section 14
Education
The Patriarch is responsible for the oversight, coordination, and implementation of all Keepers of Creation Church programs of Education. The Patriarch may appoint Trustees, Regents, Board of Education members, administrators, teachers to serve the needs of members and to assist the Patriarch with programs and particulars of education.
Section 14.1
The Patriarch will establish and direct the operations of Schools as the need arises.
Section 14.2
The White Chief is the Spiritual Leader and Patriarch of the Keepers of Creation Church. All Deacons must have at least an Associates Degree. All Ministers of the Church must have a Bachelors Degree or higher.
Section 14.3
As needed, the Patriarch, as Head the Keepers of Creation Church, may establish pre-schools, elementary schools, secondary schools, technical schools, Seminaries, and University programs of education. The Patriarch is the primary authority for the content and methods of delivery of education to students. Those responsibilities include, but are not limited to, home-schooling, physical plants, curriculum, co-operative arrangements with local school districts, distance learning programs, use of technology, discipline, teacher certification, appointment and dismissal of administrators and use of State and Federal funds for text materials, technology, remedial programs, health programs, and special education funding
